FAQS

If you have any questions do not hesitate to give us a call to ask.

CAN I TALK TO MY PHYSIOTHERAPIST BEFORE BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT?

Yes, we are more than happy to discuss your physiotherapy or health requirements before booking an appointment. Please contact us on 01491 598043 and request to speak with a Physiotherapist. alternatively you can email us your concerns or queries on: info@physiolistic.co.uk and a physiotherapist will be able to respond.

CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE?

You can book an appointment online under the 'Book Online' tab on the home page. Choose the appointment type (Physio, Sports Massage , Nutritional Therapy, Pilates and Personal Training) that you want to book and with which clinician and it will give you available appointments. This is only available for self funding patients, as payment is required to confirm your appointment.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY FIRST VISIT?

You will have a full assessment where you will discuss your symptoms and anything relevant with the physiotherapist, followed by them looking at how you move and what causes and helps your condition. They will discuss their findings with you and make a diagnosis and  together come up with a treatment plan that is individual to you and your needs. They will also start treatment in your first session. You will also be given a home exercise programme to complete.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

The physiotherapist or other professional will need to see the area that is causing your symptoms so please wear appropriate, loose, comfy clothing. Your dignity will be respected at all times. Please tell your practitioner if you are uncomfortable at any time.

DO I HAVE TO BE REFERRED BY MY GP?

No, you can refer yourself as physiotherapists are primary practitioners.  If you are going to be claiming your treatment through an insurance company,  most insurance companies require that you are referred by a GP or specialist. Please check your policy or ask you insurance company directly. We will try to assist you but will not know the ins and outs of your particular cover.

ARE WEEKEND AND EVENING APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE?

Physiolistic is open 7 days a week. The clinic is open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and  Saturday 8am to 4.30pm and Sunday 9am to 1pm

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?

Yes, we have designated parking places and a disabled space right outside the clinic. The clinic is also disabled friendly.
On match days at the Henley Rugby Club, parking directly outside the clinic is closed from 12 pm onwards and you will be required to park (for free) in the adjacent field and walk to the clinic. If this is a problem, due to mobility, please ask the marshalls on the gate .

CAN I USE MY HEALTH INSURANCE?

Yes, we are recognised by most health insurers including: BUPA, AXA PPP, AVIVA, WPA, CIGNA, Simply Health, IPRS, HCML, CS Healthcare
Please contact us if your insurance company is not listed.

HOW DO I USE MY HEALTH INSURANCE?

Each policy is specific to you and there are variations between insurance companies. Most insurance companies require you have seen your GP or a consultant, then phone them to get a claim number. We will need your membership number and claim number on your first visit to us to process payment, otherwise payment for the treatment will be required.

If the insurer has not settled your bill within 3 months, you will also be liable for payment.

Some insurance companies require you pay then get an invoice from us to claim the fee back. Please check your policy with your provider before you see us so there is no confusion.

If you want to use your insurance policy for the other services at Physiolistic other than physiotherapy please check with your insurance provider to see if this is included in your policy. This does not affect your ability to use it for physiotherapy treatment.

If you wish to start self-funding then decide to change to using your insurance policy this is possible. Any queries please ask and we will try to answer them for you.

Please note that insurers do not fund any consumables.

HOW DO I PAY?

Payments may be made by cash or credit/debit card (with the exception of American Express). We can give you a receipt if you wish to have one. We no longer accept cheques. Payment is made after each treatment session.

WHAT TREATMENT CAN I EXPECT?

Your treatment will very much depend on your diagnosis, your treatment goals and your individual circumstances. Our physiotherapists are trained in a range of skills and techniques to enable them to help you optimise your treatment and rehabilitation.
